I enjoyed watching the interaction between these guys as they fought over a perch that both were very fond of :). I decided to keep the head of the second bird in frame to compete the story. Photographed along a small wetland in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Keeping the head was a good call, it adds a lot to the whole image, plus BG, poses, light, exposure and sharpness are all SUPERB! Congratulations!

I'll go against the previous posters and say that in this case I would prefer not having the other bird there. My reason being is that I don't like how it is abruptly cut off at the neck. If more of it was showing then yes, it would work nicely. Having said this I really like the landing bird. Pose, sharpness, exposure...all excellent! A nice smooth BG too...

I am with Daniel on this one. I think the second bird just takes away from the landing bird, which is absolutely lovely, great pose, lines, sharpness and bg.

Wonderful capture with excellent action and exposure. Superb detail and a killer BG. I too agree with Daniel. I love the fact that there was a story to tell but where the second bird was cropped I find a bit distracting and because the first is so beautiful and perfect it can well stand on its own and be a great image. Many thanks for sharing.
