Interesting composition - the papyrus leaves provide an adequate base to the image. Exposure handled well -with sufficient detail visible on the underwing. Eye contact a plus as well. VVWD from me.

Welcome to BPN Marietje! Love the wing position, eye contact, and dangling feet. Also like the vegetation at the bottom of the frame. I might have dialed in some additional + EC or tried to bring out more detail in the darks during post-processing. The bird looks slightly oversharpened on my monitor.

Excellent image with only one exception...I agree with Doug that the underwing could have been lightened a bit.

As far as Doug's comment regarding the image appearing as being oversharpened...I'm going to guess that he's looking at this on an LCD.....it appeared over sharpened on my LCD at home, but here at work on a 21" CRT, it looks perfectly sharpened.

I do think that the grass below adds greatly to this image.

Very stunning flight pose Marietjie and I too like the dangling feet. I would be tempted if it were mine to give a tad more canvas on the right. Agree with Doug's comments. Many thanks for sharing this with us. Beautiful bird.

The grass is a big plus here, and the pose is superb as the light and details! Maube I would try some Noise Reduction, but overall, I think it is a great shot! Congratu;aitons!

Very cool. I would definitely do some noise reduction in the BG.
