    Default another Osprey

Shot at Little Estero lagoon, Sat Sept 20th.
    Nikon D2H with 300mm f4 afs
    1/1000s f4.5 iso 320
I saw the Osprey bathing in the Lagoon. I was able to walk from the ocean edge to the lagoon, and into the middle of the lagoon to face the Osprey down eye to eye. Got a really nice 24 frame burst of it coming straight at me.

Magical when you can set up an image like this one Gavin !!!!!

Love the straight at you look Would try to bring some detail in the feathers and smooth the noise in the bg btw an alternate crop is just at wing joint for a real tight perspective, does look interesting !!!!

It feels a bit tight, but other than that I love the fact that she/he is flying right at you! Congratulaitons!

    Hi Gavin,
Beautiful image, i realy like the straight look.I agree with Al, running some noise reduction in the BG would improve the image. I was at Estero saturday morning. Hope to meet you there one of this days.

    All:

    Thanks for the critiques.

I'm still struggling with good BG noise elimination as I learn CS3.
Yes it might be a little tight too.

I was very lucky to get it fly straight at me. I have a 24 shot burst and not sure which is my fav wing position.I almost got a similar opportunity with a bald eagle today bathing in a flooded storm ditch, but was without the camera.

Adams, yes would love to meet up some time. Have met Maxis a couple of times out shooting.

    cheers
    Gavin
