    Hi Mike,
I know its difficult to catch these guys in the clear; but you need to have patience. This image has allot of noise in the background, the HA police is going to take you away. Mr. bird is looking the other way, not at you. In addition there are too many branches and leaves that are touching him. and he is too centered in frame...only 5 lashes for you instead of the usual 20...:D:p;):)
Mike, I know we get excited some times; but you need to have patience and wait for the little guy to move around. 9 times out of 10 he will. Do me a favor, the next time you set up on one of these, I want you to remember my words: PATIENCE, PATIENCE, AND CONTROL....CONTROL, CONTROL, and COMPOSE; then squeeze the trigger...

Hi Mike Most of the people hat post little birds get them by setting up perches and bating !!! They normally don't walk around till they find one !!!

Also bird calls are a part of finding the little guys. I would say its a specialty and a difficult one at that !! Personally have very few that I really like !!! Great suggestions by Gus and fully agree !!!

Well, there goes my "best ever picture" of a yellow warbler. i knew, at least, that i belonged here for more than a year rather at the other group. i have lots of pictures that i would like to find out about. i'm afraid i need education and reeducation i hope you guys don't get tired of seeing me here.

Gus, i know you are a clean guy, i hope in the future to give you what you want and deserve, a clean picture, but my pictures are sometimes strange and you'll wish i had put some brush in front.

i never knew that they set up calls for these birds, i simply walked down the dike and shot pictures. i have some unique ones Alfred, of herons mostly, blue and green in not so usual positions. not X rated either. more of territorial poses.

once again i have to say i'm sorry for any trouble i caused and if you do want me to leave this group, just say so and i'm gone.

    always in trouble,
    mike

DO NOT LEAVE, Mike! You're coming along. But seriously, do follow the advice & recommendations the folks here offer; it will make all the difference. Your warbler is no worse than my best, shown here. I heard they were in the area this spring, went to the lake/park and sure enough found some, but the little stinkers did not stay still for 2 seconds at a time. Next year I'll take food out!! At least you got the streaks on the bird showing in your image!!

P.S. It took ALOT of post-processing work to get this photo to look as good as it does, and that's not saying much!!!:(

I can see some cloning areas still. You obviously love birds and photography- never give up on yourself or your dreams. I am using this site as a learning tool. Listen carefully to the critiques. These people know alot . Good luck to you and I'll be looking forward to your next post.

    thanks Denise and Anita,
you know i saw the clone marks as soon as i put it up, but didn't see them evenat 100% on my ps screen when i was editing. got any ideas?

Anita, i must have shot 500 shots to get this bird even as it is. i didn't know they used a caller on anything but Cerulians. i guess they aren't aloud to call or bait themm anymore.

What are you sorry about? You just need to work harder. Life is one big learning process and you are just starting. The award winning photographers did not get to where they are with out the thousands of bad photos taken until one day, they hit it. Once you hit it; its all up hill from there; and then; thats were it gets really hard, because you have to maintain your standards of excellence. So my dear friend Mike start climbing your photographic ladder; and don't look back; because if you do, you will see me with the wip in hand for your twenty lashes and then some...

I think the exsposure for the bird is good, Wish the branch was not in the middle and perhaps just some sharpening on the bird.
