The original was rather washed out looking. Is that because I should not have increased the exposure +.67?
And the sun was too high making the shadows on the face darker than wanted in the image.
Hi Cheryl - IMHO find the BG just a bit too busy on this one - not enough seperation between the bird and the background. I think your main problem here was the harsh light.
I like the feather details and the pose, but have to agree with Lance.
If the original was over-exposed overall, perhaps the head and the neck under the wing was actually correctly exposed? If so, that could help make the eye more visible. Just my guess.

thanks everyone. yes, everything was working against me, but I was having so much fun I just couldn't leave! It wasn't like I could just go back again every morning. lol
