    Default Motif: Behavior "Just Checking"

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Canon 40D
    Sigma 50 - 500

    F6.3
    ISO 500
    Exposure +.67
    500mm

The original was rather washed out looking. Is that because I should not have increased the exposure +.67?
And the sun was too high making the shadows on the face darker than wanted in the image.

    What do you think?

Hi Cheryl - IMHO find the BG just a bit too busy on this one - not enough seperation between the bird and the background. I think your main problem here was the harsh light.

I like how you can see the eye's under the wing.

I like the feather details and the pose, but have to agree with Lance.

If the original was over-exposed overall, perhaps the head and the neck under the wing was actually correctly exposed? If so, that could help make the eye more visible. Just my guess.

These are difficult to expose with any light Cheryl The head will always be in the shade. I've had the best results with solid overcast !!!

Agree with most of the comments regarding the BG. Also, as Harold mentioned the feather details are fine.
