    This was shot at the newfoundland Insectarium...about 40-50 species or tropical butterflies and lots of good photo ops. This is not quite a macro and a bit of a different angle.

    300mm L @ F7.1, 1/125 sec, -1/3 ev

    Dave, I love the pose and you certainly nailed the focus on the eye and the fuzzy spot on his back. I'm a little surprised at how blurry that front wing is when you were using f7.1 for an aperture. He's very regal looking, though!

    John,
    The light, the pose and the BG are all great. the OOF foreground wing is a little distracting but it isnt an image killer for me.

    Stepping 12 inches left would have placed more of the wing in focus but it would have changed the comp quite a bit.

    I would darken the leaf reflection with curves and a mask, should take 10 seconds at the most.

    Hey Dave, agree with all that been said all ready, I agree that the OOF wing is a little distracting but overall well done.
