Couldn't find the spider so I settled for this beetle.
    40D
    WB Cloudy
    f11
    0EV
    100mm
    ISO 800
    1/25 s
twin light macro lite set to -2 fill flash
    25mm extension tube

No Cropping, a little sharpening, curves adjustment, selective colour to the blacks and neutrals
Some layers blended in the overlay mode.

It was actually a very overcast day, the background is the divider on the patio. The beetle is on a granite rock.

    C & C welcome.
    Thanks.

Love the composition and background on this one. Beetle looks a little soft on my monitor.

Hi Jackie Glad your finding bugs !!!

As presented would crop a little from the back to minimize the rock. Looks like is going slightly away form you, all apply same a birds !!! You did get the point of focus on the right spot but having the body oof as Oscar points detracts. Its best to have the oof on the back plane and with the bug looking our way could have been !! I like the tech info btw did you use a tripod?

I feel like I am writing an essay, I always forget something. Yes I used a tripod. I have to do some work on DOF. Certainly is a challenge, but I am looking forward to it!
