    Default Heermann's Gull

    I'm going to try and post this photo again. It's a close-up of a Heermann's Gull that I photographed in Southern California. I love the combination of gray and orange in these birds!



    Canon 1D Mark III, 840mm, f/8, 1/1600, ISO 500, no flash, low tripod

    i love the detail in the eye, Mr B!! i agree about the oranges and the greys. really nice!!

    Love the details, color are terrific but I would've loved the body to be more in the same profile angle as the head, other than that, as said, I love it! Congratulaitons!

    Beautiful bird--and excellent detail , Doug. We have quite a few of these in my area--and they are a favorite. Fun to watch, too.

    The scratches haven't healed yet, but I'm feeling fine. Of course I was only there for two days because of work, so I had it easy compared to the others.

    Fantastic details Doug. The eye is fantastic and I understand why dou yoy love this species, really beautifulf gull. The BG compliments very nicely this portrait.
