To me, this has a very asian feel; I like it but I'm not sure about the composition. Does it need more room? What's missing? (I think it's begging for a Chinese character in the llc). Or does it just not work? Comments and Help appreciated:confused:

to me, it looks like summer! have you tried it with a little bit of the twig/dark areas much blacker? would that give it some depth? something to anchor it?

    I really like it.

i think it absolutely works!!! i might suggest a little more contrast to give it some more definition. the chinese character in a corner is a personal preference, but not a bad idea!! love the treatment. very nice job!!

Very original. Agree with Harold on adding a little more contrast

    Lady Katie,
I like it as presented. Very soft, very delicate, simple and elegant. Now, tell me how you composed it, need to see the techs. congrats...

Agree with it needing more contrast, bringing out the darks more. I think you have found your style though in this painterly technique Katie.

Gus, I could give you the techs for capturing the photo but I can't tell you what I did in photoshop becuz I don't remember!! I was playing around one evening, using filters, saturation and different effects and this is where I ended up, And, of course I didn't write it down and I don't see it in the history...is there a way to find that information? I have the Tiff file still.

I think it works, Katie, but personally I don't see it as a photograph anymore. It's a pretty image for sure. If you want it to look like some Chinese painting, then I would suggest leave the contrast level as is.

Katie, this is really pretty and elegant-looking. I wouldn't mind seeing a series of these with different colored subjects. Nice job, even if it was kind of accidental. ;)

Hi Katie - works for me - a litle more contrast though for my personal taste.

Katie, this is just gorgeous! It would be fun to try printing it on different types of artistic printer paper - like canvas or watercolor paper.

Not knowing how to reproduce it makes it unique!

This is really cool, Katie!! Cool enough, IMO, that altho you already have lots of comments, I still had to stop to add my admiration! Sure would be nice if you remembered what you did!! It does have an Asian feel, with or without a Chinese character added. And I think it looks fine with the space as is, but would also maybe look good, but a little different, with lots of white space surrounding it. Good job!!
