While my Wife and I were visiting friends in Vancouver, for supper, this pigeon flew in for some seeds...6 came in only one would fit on feeder at a time...not really sure why the little indent is on his foreheand..but its not an editing mistake...

    HI Paul,

This is very nice. I would remove the noise from the BG. Next time if you can, try to set up a perch of two near by.

Paul: The indent at the base of the beak is because this is a juvenile bird and not fully developed. You can see the same thing in domestic pigeons.

Thanks Max and James..are there any freeware/shareware, noise removers out there that work fairly well, with this photo I even tried to mask bird and only sharpen the bird to avoid noise, must have been the cropping that boosted the noise...Paul

Hi Paul I'm not aware of any freeware/shareware but you can do lots of good things in PS Layer mask with Gaussian blur then brush away the unwanted effect.

I think this filter is used so often is worth buying !!!

A very attractive bird. You did well with the BG but need to smooth out the noise. With only one fitting on the feeder it's a perfect opportunity to have some perches and get some natural images.
