Default Best web host for photographers?

    Good morning all:

Well, I would finally like to set up a website, and am looking for input on peoples exerience with different web hosting companies.

My use will just be for personal use, not commercial sales or such.

Are some more photographer friendly, as far as ease of layout, etc.

    Thanks so much

    Randy

    Hi Randy

Might want to take a look at the people that did mine. It was fast and easy. After is finished you will be able to make all changes, upload images etc About the only thing they have to do for me are the hot links.

The site name is LiveBooks Can recommend. Check my link below for the website.

Randy, I have had nothing but good experience with Smugmug.com. Lots of options, very friendly, and great customer service.

    Randy,

    Take a look at:

    http://www.foliolink.com/featuredstories.asp

My site is featured (look for the Bald Eagle portrait with a red background).

Folilink is easy to use. Customer service is great. Tons of template choices. You can do everything yourself. And the cost is reasonable.

I shopped around before I set up my site and Folilink was a great balance between features, service and price. Looked at others like Live Books that were priced in the $1000s and found Folilink much realistic at $200-300 for the first year and less to renew.

I've finally settled down by using Godaddy and using a piece of software called
    Slideshow Pro (http://slideshowpro.net/)

I wanted something kinda close to the look of something like BluDomain, without
paying throw the nose which I was able to do with Slideshow Pro.

I'd get a cheap reliable web host like HostMonster and use the free included Fantastico install script to install the free Coppermine or Gallery scripts and then pick the theme you want which is also free.
