This was created at Busch Gardens Tampa. I don't know what kind of Pelican this is. I used my Sony A100 with a Sigma 50-500 lens. The data-f/6.3,1/500,ISO 250, 0 ev, 330mm. Welcome all C & C's. Thanks for looking, John

What a cool looking fella! :)

Too centered for my taste but you did the best you could. Did you get some in vertical?

Alittle to centered I would take alittle off the right side and top putting the bird higher in the frame. Well Done!

John I went ahead and cropped the image off the top and right side it took away alittle bit of the steep angle. Your shot would work on a vertical as well because of the position and angle of the Pelican. With that being said you have nice details in the bird and a pretty bg . This is a very nice shot.

This might be a Dalmation Pelican. I have seen them in zoos before....but you'll need to check. Perhaps post it in the Bird ID forum. The repost from the composition is better and a vertical would also work. I think a bigger issue here appears to be the processing.....or perhaps overprocessing to the point where it tends to lose the "photo" quality. When I first started I had a tendency to do way too much and sometimes got that look. I'd go back to the original, crop and then try to get back to the "natural" look. You've got a good start here.

I like your final repost John,
The colors in the water are superb. You have razor sharp details and very god color rendition on the bird...good show...
