Beautiful setting, light and composition, Jasper. The BG looks a bit noisy, should be easy to fix.

Would make a great cover image. Love the colours, the pose, environment. Minor nit, I wish all of his tail was visible.

    Hi Jasper,

I remember seeing this image before and i still like it very much. The nits have allready been mentioned such as noise and the tail behind the flower (however that last one is simply out of your hands..). I am glad to see a shot in wich there is some surrounding area visible instead of opting for full-frame (wich was one of your nemesis for this year i believe) and agree that this does look very good in this case.
Thank you for posting this lovely photograph!

I hope to see you posting some more recent work soon too.

    Greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

A very nice example of an environmental bird image. The bird has enough details and yet is not dominating. The environment here is simply beautiful. As mentioned, the blocked tail is a minor pity but doesn't take much pleasure away from viewing this image. :)

A treat to the eyes, Jasper :)

Colors and DOF make this one for me.

I've come to appreciate....and desire the habitat/environmental image. This is an excellent example of what I'd like to achieve. I just like the "whole package" of this one. Well done.

Wonderful image, I love the colours and the bird in it's surrounding!
