    Hi Kristin This is a well composed moody image with the light coming from hard left like the timing on the catch and head angle

    Did not mention the tech info as to exp compensation? Early morning you need to add a lot of light to the images This one looks a bit dark (over all feel) Normally you would fill flash for these type images (filling the dark side of the bird ..... sounding like a Pink Floyd record :cool:) but it can overpower the warm soft light I prefer getting into sun angle to avoid the situation

    One other thing I would try is getting the bird in clean water Some times is not possible but do try Early morning reflections are beautiful Will try posting a before and after tonight of a similar situation !!!!

    Kristin,

    I like the light on the birds face and am rather drawn to the dark moodiness of the image. Great suggestions and how to from Alfred!
