    Default Behaviour/Canada Goose

This is one from the vault. I redid the edit trying to work on giving the goose more room to fly into and tried to get the colour and contrast close to what I thought it should be.

Meant to preview it first! Anyways I had to clone out a duck. And did a black and white point adjustment on the goose. Plus a lot of other tweaks to it.

    Suggestions appreciated.

now that's typical Canada Goose behavior!! lol
I like the details in the black. Can you make the body pop more? more sharpening or contrast?

    Excellent work Jakie !!!!

I like the reasoning for all the work and does show !!! Downloaded the goose and did some tweaking. Not much different you did very well. Perhaps the little extra contrast helped (really little)

I like the vertical framing for this image, just perfect for the raised wings. Room for the bird to fly into, open beak calling and the splashing !!! A slight more room at the top would be helpful ! Really good I like this image a lot !!!! Big Congrats !!!

I upped the saturation quite a bit. I should have had proof set up set to Windows RGB instead of custom. (View/Proof Setup/Windows RGB) and it would have given me a more accurate idea of what the picture would look like when posting.:) If I increased the contrast it started to peg the black and whites at the edges of the histogram so that was all I did to it. And yes you can hear them honking!

Jackie - I like the original better as well. Is it just me or does it need a little CCW?

    :)

Not sure Lance, I shot the goose standing up on a pier. The lens had no IS and was hand held. You would probably know better than me, or Harold who is the head of the horizon angle police (and he didn't mention anything):)

Excellent take off capture Jackie. Bird is sharp and is placed well in the frame. Maybe just take a little off the bottom.

    Hi Lady Jackie,
I like your composition, image and capture. Great action here. I like the colors and hues of the original post. I would take a tad from the bottom, and add canvas to the top to give him more room for the wing tips...congrats on a job well done...:)

Yep, the colors in the original are better. Those Canada geese can be really aggressive. Agree with Gus on cropping a bit off the bottom and would be better with more room at the top. Good capture !

Hi Jackie: Love your capture of our Canuck namesake. Just my opinion, but I like the bottom cut off because it shows the agressiveness and behaviour of your subject, also like your original color. Added a tad to the top. Here's my version of what I was thinking . . . Uncle Gus :D
