    Hey Mike! As you pointed out eye contact could be better here. Your sharpness is definitely getting better with more light. The trees/ branches at the bottom of the frame are a little distracting. I would move the bird to the right in the frame. And there are some cloning artifacts in the upper right of the image. Thanks for posting!

    Nice find and I agree with Doug regarding framing and would sharpen the bird a bit more.

    thanks Doug and Axel for the critiques. hay Doug, did you do anything with the RAW images yet? please let me know your findings. i am asuming yougot my RAW's of that chickadee..

    Mike, this is a circumstance where the situation is just not good enough to make an image. The bird's head is looking away, and the BG is just too cluttered. The tail is hidden by the lower branch. Sometimes it is best to just enjoy watching the subject, and wait for a better opportunity to make a photograph.

    Hi Mike, Linda's comments are right on, and in addition, the subject is not sharply focused. This, I am not sure that sharpening would help very much.
