    Not sure what this fella was doing....but it sure looked cool :)

    Shot with Jan back in March. A fine day we had 8)

    Glen:

    I really like the pose. We have canvas backs at the local bird sanctuary during the winter here in Michigan. I find they are difficult to properly expose as the white back usually blows out. I find with the D300 I have to use at least -2/3 stop and often minus 1 to hold the whites.

    Beautiful pose Glen, and the water adds a lot to the image! I might move the bird a little lower in the frame.

    Glenn: A beautiful image - as noted above. This drake is performing a "Head-throw" which is a courtship display common in canvasbacks and other diving ducks.

    Very cool pose, details, angle and light. Another vote for a lower position in the frame.

    awesome Glenn., this is a tough duck to catch around here, and my favourite, so I really can appreciate this shot.. cool pose.
