This is my first post for the current motif and only a teaser for things to come:D:D another capture from my awesome adventure on the hooptie deux!!! taken on tampa bay. cant wait for next time!! these pelicans are crazy, goofy birds. they will just break out and start flapping their wings in the water for what seems to be no reason at all!! did i mention that i love the dumb, goofy birds!!:D

    D300, Bigma at 500mm, f/9, 1/640s, -1.0EV, ISO 400.

full frame from left to right. just cropped the top and bottom to make the panorama.

thanks for looking and comments and critiques are appreciated!!

    Excellent capture Harold !!!

..... they are bathing !!! Sure take their time and are methodical Usually will do so at the end of the day I like direct look and splashes Pano works well here !!! Next time you find one try a slow shutter speed image The head stays still for the most part so it will stay somewhat sharp !!!

I like the spray of water framing your bird on each side. How did the water get to be blue in the lower third? Is that the reflection of the boat?
Cool capture Harold. Beautiful colours. Really well done.

    Daktari,
Super composition, capture and image. You nailed this one..love the action here, especially the splash of water all over the place. Well, now we know that this is one clean bird...:p;):):D...good show...

P.S. the pano crop makes tis a "10"...:D:cool:

thanks for the comments! jackie, i think the blue in the water is the sky. the green is obviously a line of mangroves in the bg.

Love the composition and the action. Clean, sharp image. My only suggestion that might be worth considering is that I want the bird larger in the frame; I think a regular 'landscape' crop size rather than pano. But that may be a matter of personal taste.
    Cheers

Beautifully done, Harold. Agree with the others the pano makes this shot.
