This was taken in a nature reserve about 200km north of Johannesburg, South Africa. Shooting from a hide, these guys were not skittish at all.

Just Beautiful, I like the light on the bird and the background.

Lovely to get this close, Stuart. Being almost eyelevel with the bird is great. BG and perch are great. The light is nice but the direction would have been nicer if it were more behind you than to the side. A head turn to show the bird's profile more would have been good and would have balanced the composition better. The eye looks a little "glazed" but I think some selective contrast work in PS would resolve that.

Stuart nice shot of PK, the eye does worry me a bit, the rest works fine for me, was this taken at Nylsvlei or Pillansberg?

Thanks for pointing out the eye Tony and Loukie. Eye hopefully sorted.

Nice bird and BKGR. Feather detail is EXC esp. on the neck collar. Could use a bit more room above. My biggest problem is the subject to imaging sensor juxtapostion; images with the subject at a 45 degree angle to the back of the camera are difficult to pull off.
