Pied Currawong North western NSW, ground level from under the car, off a bean bag. With my camera I find that trying to expose for the blacks I struggled with the highlights in the eye.

95% of original, slight adjustment to Exposure in Bridge. levels, smart sharpen.

    Olympus E500, 50-200mm, EC14, RAW. ISO 400, 158mm 1/400 F4.5 Aperture Priority no compensation.

Congratulations on getting such a sharp and focused photograph of this dark yet beautiful species. Eye is stunning. The background is thrown out of focus which is great, only I think the horizon needs straightened out. Perhaps crop a little from the right to improve composition and get rid of that distracting object. Be careful though in not chopping off the tail. I also like the eye-level approach. Great photograph.

Nice to see such a cool bird. I like this image. The eye is really attractive.
While the bg is nicely blurred the lighter elements (trees) somehow takes away the eyes. Guess you could manage it better. :) Really nice job on the blacks.

Very nice low angle and alert pose. The rock behind the bird is somewhat distracting but that would be it for me.

I like the alert pose, exposure control and angle. If this 95% then rotating it might get tricky.

Great job on the blacks! Nice low angle and I like the look. Horizon tilt mentioned....

Ian you've captured that evil currawong eye really well, and I like the detail in the blacks.
