    Default Great Blue Heron

    This is probably one of the most photographed GBH's around. Captured at Ding Darling on Sunday morning in the thrid lagoon. He was actually being a pain because he was hanging out near where I was laying down while photographing the Spoonbills. He kept chasing them off and interfereing with my setup! Anyway, this is a full frame capture. No cropping at all. He was just sitting at a perfect angle to the light, and a perfect distance for me to frame him in the 600. You can definitely see the transitional water coloration here that I was using as the BG for the Spoonbill captures.

    Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L, f/4, ISO 200, 1/2500, off tripod at ground level. Full frame.

    Great light, pose, and angle. I might sharpen the bird a bit more and it seems to need a little bit CW rotation.

    Great pose and great light, BG works very good and the colours are lovely! The cut off reflexion does not bother at all! CongratulAtiONS!
