Shot this leopard in a zoo as an exercise in animal portraits. Also my first ever cloning attempt (I cloned away some twigs and flowers in front of the animal). I increased sharpness (Adaptive unsharp mask) and contrast in Photopaint, but this caused something weird to happen to the light shining on the left side of the animal. I like what the increased contrast does for the details, colors and "shine" of the animal, but I am unsure how to make the strange lighting effect go away. Suggestions are very welcome!

nice compo, jerry. i'm assuming that you were making the changes in contrast and brightness because the tiger was dark on the right side. the light is coming from the left shading the right side. in this case you would need to make a local change and not a change to the entire image. if it was too dark on the right, then make the adjustments to the right only and if it was too bright on the left then vise versa.
hope i was clear enough for you....sometimes i dont understand myself!!
Hi there, this is the original picture. Slightly overexposed, especially on the side where the light is coming from. I rember that I took the picture through a glass wall. Might be some reflection of that as well. As Harold suggested, it might be a good idea to alter only one side of the picture.
Thanks in advance for any further advice.
