    Hi Jeni

What was your shutter speed? You did well since the image is sharp Not sure about the compensation, might want check the histogram again see if you had data on the fifth box to the right. Seems a little under, would do a curves adjustment !!!

I like the room you gave at the bottom, easy to clip the toes with the grass covering them. I also like the attentive pose but would like a little more of a head turn, enough to have the bill tip and eyes in the same plane.

Downloaded the image and got such a different color after the adjustments I did not want to upload. What time did you make the image?

Hi Al and Harold - shutter speed 1/200sec time 07h00. ISO 400
It's the first time I have tried using the camera histogram - really battling!
I changed the WB in ACR to "cloudy" , "daylight" made it very cold - but it's different on BPN than on my screen.
Don't know if I should have used flash - what should my settings be if I do?
    Thanks - appreciated.

Besides the orangie cast, you have great details and placement on the bird.
    Congrats,
