By manual focus, did you pre-focus or you adjust the focus while tracking?

Were you about 7 ft or less from the bird?

Yes I use the pre-focus metod.The distance is less of 2 meters.Almost without crop.

Great capture and wing position. Amazing that there is wing blur at 1/4000s. A smoother BG would have made it even better. Thanks for sharing!
