    Default Bosque Dreaming

About this time of year I'm ready for the birds to return to the Bosque. It's getting cooler now, and good folks are down there working on the land getting it prepared. Here's my favorite Red-Tail from last season (taken in February 08).

D300, 400mm+2.0tc, f/8, 1/800, iso 250, matrix metering with -0.7ev. Taken out car window with BLUBB.
Would you clone out the stub sticking up on the bottom part of the branch or leave it natural?

Cool pose and eye contact. The stub doesn't bother me. I would give it a bit more room left and right and remove the noise in the BG. It looks a bit bright on my monitor.

Nice pose. The stub would be a personal preference, it doesn't bother me. Was this shot full frame? seems a tad tight on the sides.

One of the nicer photos you've posted here David! Agree with Axel's suggestions but like it a lot. Congrats!

Easy to see why it is a favorite! As others have mentioned, this one would be greatly improved with more room on the left.

Thanks all. It's not quite a full frame shot, but almost. I can easily add some canvas for more room.
