Hi - thought Id share this one - light is from all the wrong places and unfortunatley this was all I could work with, I couldn't move anywere else big ravine between myself and the bird. Shot from the window of the car.

Caught this guy just after he had caught a rat for lunch ( have a whole series of shots)

Its a also a fiarly huge crop - hope to catch this action with the correct light and the ability to get closer - One day.

The light angle isn't ideal but the image is still lovely. Great pose and I like how you captured the moment of the bird eating a bite. The BG is lovely and the composition perfect. I might lessen contrast just a bit with Curves. What a fantastic bird!

I like the action captured and eye contact. Adding to Linda's comment I might put the bird a bit higher in the frame.

Really nice Lance! Image suffers a bit from the angle of light and the large crop. But you've captured some great feeding behavior against a beautiful BG. Thanks for posting!

    Hi Lance,
Despite the harsh light you have done a great job with this. Great behavioural moment and the BG is to die for!!
    Regards,

Very nice, great PP work here, I would put the bird higher in the frame to but other than that, with the conditions you had to deal with, you did very good!

You've done well in the difficult light, Lance. Agree re moving the bird up in the frame. The red eye on these Black-shouldered kites is just amazing. The redness echoed in it's meal and the piece in the beak seems caught in mid air - lovely shot

    Exclamation Monk Parakeet

This one is from a while back, I found it while organizing the archive. Don't have the full EXIF, since it's shot with an AI 400mm f/3.5, and the D70 doesn't record the aperture. It's shot on monopod, 1/400, ISO 200.
After a couple of months of shooting mostly city and PJ stuff, and little nature, I expect to come back with new stuff soon!
