Mark III replacement

Historically Canon 1D series bodies are on the market for 1.5 years so by the last quarter of 2008 the MKIII it is due for a replacement. Now the important question is will Canon keep the same AF system or release the camera with a replacement AF system?

With the last 2 new camera releases, the 50D and the 5DII they chose to not redesign the AF systems on these cameras. Canon has a huge challenge if it plans to redesign a new AF system to keep up with the competition as all the current bodies have less than class leading AF.
