Beautiful capture Maxis with excellent color and detil. Great head turn and a striking BG. I like it a lot.

I like it, but then I really like Cardinals. We have many of them in Illinois. The star is just where it should be. I assume you didn't see it when you set up the image. It really works.

Oh yes I did! is all part of the set up which was really easy actually. You could see the "star" from far away!

    Thanks for the comments! ;)

The BG whas the first thing I noticed when I saw the thumbail, I like it very much! Colors and sharpness, eye contact and light are great! Congratulations!

Another vote for the "star" BG. Nice job. I also like the non traditional pose from the back with the very nice head turn.

A nice pose and you did a great job holding detail in the reds. I like the star bg too! Nice capture!

Maxis, great job with the BG. I'm not sure if it's a palm leaf, but to me, it gives a clue that you photographed this bird in Florida and not in the midwest. The bird's not bad either :-)

    Cheers,
    Greg

A beautiful bird Maxis, I see halos from over sharpening. I for one find the BG rather distracting. Also I might crop a tad off of the top. Other then these minor nits sweet shot, keep up the good work.

Absolutely superb Max! I have never had the opportunity to photograph cardinals but my hunch is they are very tough birds to capture accurately. You have done it here. There is absolutely nothing to change here. Close to perfection.
