    Default Great Blue Heron

I was taking pictures of this guy chasing comorants after they caught fish that were to large to get down fast. He would try to get the fish. He would half fly and half walk on the water to get there. I just thought this was a silly looking shot so here it is. D1X w 600/4 f5.6@1/1600sec exposure comp -2/3
    Thanks for looking, Rick

It's a neat pose to be sure. Sharpness is good. I'd like to see a little more head turn. I would add a little canvas at the bottom and move the bird a little left in the frame. Thanks for posting!

    Hi Rick,
I would be tempted to crop some off the top and go for the pano look. Great pose and those droplets take it over the top for me.

Great action in this image and the pano idea IMO would really suit the action in this composition. I agree moving the bird to the left a little to off center it is a good suggestion. Great timing and detail. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with comments and would add that I would like more room up front for the bird to move in to, will also add to the sense of movement. Excellent !!!

Love the pose you have captured. He looks determined to steal a fish! I like the pano crop idea, but would not take canvas off the back since I think the flying water drops add to the image. I would like more room in front, but I think it might be difficult to add seamlessly. Well captured!
