Image created at Kaloni saltworks, Lesvos Island, Greece last month during vacations. Croped from horizontal.
I was taking pictures of Flamingos and Avocets when I saw this guy.
Some may find it destructing but I really like that rusty nail :)
    What do you think?

I love old fence posts, rusty nails, and barbed wire in images. An excellent bird with a good pose. It's rather interesting that the nail's curve follows that of the bird. At first I wasn't sure but after looking at it awhile, I think that it may just add some character. It would have been nice if the nail was more closely wrapped on the post or driven in much further but I think that this one works. Oh....and that BG is wonderful.

    Hi Petros,

I love these guys!! The nail is a huge distraction to me. I would clone that out! Do you have one in horizontal?

    Thanks for your comments.
Lana I didn't have noticed the similarity of the nail's curve with the bird!
Maxis do you think that a horizontal version would be better? Well, here is a horizontal crop. What do you think? (sorry but I had no time to remove the nail).

    Hi Petros,

Without a question! Much better IMO.

Keep up the good work and go and remove that nail... :)

I don't mind the nail I think it gives the shot character . The I like the pose by the Shrike and the colors in the bg are very pretty. I like vertical as well as the horizontal. Thanks for sharing.

I like all of the versions, even with or without nail. I can understand why some find it distracting and others find it adding to the picture. I like both.
    Wonderful soft BG.

I agree with Lana about the curve. It truly adds character to the image. Well done. I do prefer the horizontal shot to the vertical one, but I think its a matter of preference.
