Am cleaning up leftover images from the summer's shoots....Don't quite have the proper head angle here - so I'll surrender to the HAP - & I think it could be a bit sharper, but I like the colors revealed by his posture, and I like the open beak. Looks like background's still noisy, too....:(:( All comments and suggestions welcome!

Agree with your assessment Anita. Can add I would like seeing the ISO lowered and more direct light on the bird. The breast area is a bit dingy.

Do like the pose, calling and great looking bg !!

I really like how the tail feathers continue on the same line as the branch, and the its diagonal direction in the frame. I might try a bit more contrast on the bird only to see if that helps make it 'pop' a bit more.

Would like to see a bit more blue area around the tail. Good capture. Crazy looking bird:)

Thanks, all, for the good suggestions. It is a scissor-tailed flycatcher.

    Hi Anita,
10 lashes for the head angle, 10 lashes for the bird being on the soft side, and another 10 lashes for the noise...:p;):D:) I like the composition and the tail going diagonal with your frame...this is a beautiful bird...looking forward to your next one...

Hey Anita, I still have some bail money left from one of my last HAP lashings.
I like the way you got the tail in the frame, also your background.

Ha, ha, Oscar! Actually, look closely - almost seems to be peeking at me, doesn't he? Or maybe not. :p
