I'm from Quebec City Canada and it's my first post on this forum. I'm very new in Bird photography but i learn rapidely. Thanks to evaluate this photo for me of this purple finch.
Liked the simple composition here. Lovely BG to go with. Small region on the feather to the left (below the head) look a bit too bright. Might add a round of USM...
nice simple composition! may have been better as a vertical. do like the perch. maybe a bit more of it would have been nice. the thick black frame is a little overwhelming. may try toning down the whites on his back a little. other than that, very nice!!!
I like the compo and the BG, compo looks very nice and a bit more SAT could help, I would've also loved to see a bit more tail, but as it is, it looks great. Congratulations!
Welcome to BPN, Pierre! Very nice first post. I like the pose, eye contact and perch. I agree on more saturation and maybe contrast. It might work as vertical crop, too. Keep them coming!
Bonjour Pierre, et bienvenue ā BPN!! Je suis certain que tu va en apprendre beaucoup ici. I like the suggestions from the posters above, and I will also add that this is very well done by a beginner...looking forward to more :-)
A very nice first post, and for someone fairly new to bird photography you have done a lot right in this image. I like the pose, and you captured the all-important good head angle. The perch is photogenic and the bg clean. You did well to place the bird on the far left in this horizontal composition. This nice image will be further improved by the post processing tips offered above.....a little more saturation, contrast, and sharpening.
It would be most helpful if you would include technical info on your camera settings in future posts. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts!
I agree, very nice Pierre! You have great subject here on a very good perch. Linda and others are spot on- a bit more contrast (try Linear Contrast preset in Ps Curves), saturation and sharpness would really improve the image. All this can be done in post-processing as you have the basis of a good image. You could try a different crop with a little less room on the right.
