    Default Brown Pelican takes flight

I got this shot in early morning light out in Southern California. For such large birds, these guys are quite agile.

Sweet light. Like the pose. The water adds to the image. I like this image a lot.

Nice lighting, action and sharpness. Reminds me of the Spot Billed Pelican photographed during the weekend. That splash of water adds a lot to the image.

Beautiful lighting Doug and I love the action in this image. As mentioned the splash is a real bonus and the blurred wings adds another feeling of action. Congrats on a lovely image Doug.

I like the action on this one, the light and the details, I am not to crazy about the wings position but is a matter of personal taste, as is, it looks great! Congratulations!

Great action shot as already mentioned, although my personal preference is for stop action with sharp detail in the wings this looks really cool. Love the light and BG. I image mostly at Bolsa Chica Wetlands and wonder if this is where you captured this shot. As you say it is amazing how agile these big birds are. Congratulations on a great shot

Nice action moment captured in sweet light. The splashes and wing blur add alot to the overall feel of motion/action.
