    I think that fill flash would've made a real differnce here, as I see some noise in the shadowed areas, still the pose looks good but I feel that all that there is too much white aorround making the bird's impact and presence weaker.

    Hi Desmond I think a different wing position would help? Would like seeing more wings surface like when the bird is directly overhead !!! btw at 1/1000 sec the flash would have been marginal if that is a full frame, just doesn't reach !!!

    I do have a couple with other wing positions. I just thought this position looked better :o
