This male was taking a breather from the squabbling below as two family groups were having a disagreement over the fence line between their territories
Cropped from horizontal but had to make it 'squarish because there was a lot of rubbish around the bird

    Hi Rob,

This reminds me of my wonderful time in Australia!
I just love these little colorfull birds!

Might crop this one closer to avoid the perch touching the bottom of the frame.

    Greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

Nice image. Would love just a bit more feather detail in the blacks. Beautiful bird.

Lovely pose with a nice head turn Rob and good detail . I agree with Jeroen's cropping suggestion. Many thanks for sharing.

Love the BG and light, perch looks nice too, you've lost some details in the shadows due to the -2 exposure, maybe a fill flash would've helped. Still a great shot! Congratulations!

    I like it Rob,
My only concern is the loss of details in the blacks. It would of helped if you used fill flash or over expose by +1.0EV perhaps...good show...

Gorgeous subject and nice bg. I would be tempted to remove the lower branch entirely, crop a bit from the bottom and add some canvas to the top. As mentioned, fill flash would have been helpful. Very nice capture.
