Taken a month ago I liked the pose that this Curlew gave me in its surrounding habitat.

Although its not a complete clean shot it is one that shows the pickle weed environment

were these birds live and feed.

    Hi James,

Beautiful shot, love the low angle and as you said it's a wonderful habitat image. Really nice light provides great color. At first glance I feel like it needs some CCW rotation, like the little waves in front pull it down to the right. Great image, very well done. Was this taken at Bolsa Chica?

It's nice to see a habitat shot. Lovely light, and your framing is perfect. The alert pose is nice too. LB Curlew's are one of my favorite birds - I love their beautiful plumage, and that bill is amazing! Very well captured!

Jim, this is very appealing due to the inclusion of the habitat. His wet head and spiky feathers add a touch of humor to it.

Wonderful composition and lighting James and I agree with the other comments that the inclusion of the habitat adds a lot to this image. Beautiful work !!!

I like it, the BG doesn't bother at all, maybe what distracts a little is the OOF plant in front, but light, compo, colors, and sharpness are great! Congratulations!
