still nothing exciting here to photograph, so I tried this toad. I used F5.0 since this lens is sharper at that aperture, but I think more dof would have helped.

I would appreciate any comments and suggestions.

    Hi Cheryl,
I like Mr. Frog. The background is too busy, need to diffuse it more, and the the blade of grass touching your subject is over powering...when shooting in this type of habitat, you need to open up your lens to the max, in order to get a more pleasing background...

Thanks for the critique, Gus. I see now how bright and distracting the grass is. wonder why i didn't notice it before????
This lens only goes to F4, but even at this F5, the tip of its mouth seems too soft and oof.

    Thanks, Gus.

Would have gone for a tighter image Cheryl ... or if it was more centered would have worked better. Love the expression looks like its having a rough day !!!

You've got the focus dead on on the frog. Just would get the right leaf out of the way:), and a little tighter crop. I liked your cat too. Fun garden:)

Thanks, Jackie, yes, the garden is fun, but would trade it in an instant for a place with more exciting photo-ops! :)
