Canon 500mm f/4 IS lens, 1.4x teleconverter, and a Canon EOS-1D Mark II mounted on a tripod. ISO 200. Manual mode 1/160 at f/25. Five flash set up. Ecuador.
This species is rare and quite shy. When I noticed this bird in the forest nearby I added a 1.4x teleconverter to my 500mm lens and stood well back from the set-up. Shy species are more likely to approach if you remain very still while you wait for the bird to come to the feeder set-up. For very shy species, a blind can be employed.
Wow.. you blow my mind away!!! I am speachless, and believe me, that is not easy... ;)
The pose, the lightning, the BG, the sharpness... I will say it again and again if I have to, I want to be the first one to buy you CD, the first one!!! I mean it!!! Congratulations, I admire you everyday more and more.
Very nice. Love that bill. I do not care what number I am as long as I get on the list for the CD! I am sure the waiting list is getting longer with the images you have posted lately.
What a dangerous bill it has :D
Nice image however I canot see any green on it. Maybe you should calibrate your screen :D:D:D:D:D
Sorry, just kidding ;) This image is very nice indeed.
Linda, the lighting on this one is really nice and natural, with great texture. The backlight blends perfectly, and the background looks like a clear blue sky. Great in-flight image of a really cool bird.
