    Shot last spring, the buds reminded me of a posing ballerina. Would have liked a little more DOF on the bottom of the stem but, BG was starting to come into play with more DOF.

    Perfect title. I don't like that dark area at the very bottom of the stem (another leaf pointing forward?) but don't know how you could have avoided it. I'd be tempted to do a little post processing cosmetic surgery :D ;) but don't know if you do that sort of thing.

    Nice tones and colors. Interesting subject.

    Perhaps just a little more breathing room in the frame.

    It does look much like a ballerina, nice light, pleasing colours and more DOF would have been good as you mentioned.

    This seems so different from your usual fare, Mike. The colors are lovely and the leaves are so delicately placed. I agree that a smidge more breathing room would be nice but the rest of it really works for me. I don't even mind the OOF leaf at the base.
