Need a break from the Mousebird saga and the "CL" word. :D
African Jacana L 28cm- rufous bird with extremely long toes and nails enabling it to walk over floating vegetation. Habitat - any body of water containing floating vegetation, also frequents flooded grasslands.
    Canon 40d 300mmf/4 with 1.4x
    F/5.6 exp. time 1/640sec
Metering mode: Pattern exp comp. -.67step.

[This was taken at a local dam with a wretched rooster sitting on my back half the time while I was stalking the Jacana.( I can't kneel so was on my tummy!) - Tyson is posted on the "friends etc" :o]

Neat bird and I like how he is walking into the frame.
Exposure to my eye looks good, and the only thing I would do is get rid of the brown (rock)? underneath his bill.
I like the photo, great place for bird photography:)

Hi Jeni, I like your Jacana, good composition and details. You might want to brighten the eye a bit. Thank you for the species account, also.

Hi Jeni Sure like it Would only suggest a little more room at the bottom, those long toes must be really close to the edge. ............... and notice I didn't say anything about evicting the brown clump :)

btw you could slightly brighter and take some from the band at the top !!! Excellent but looking forward to more mousebirds !!!!

    Very nice Jeni,
I like your composition. I would crop just a tad from the top, and like Mr. Forns stated; to add canvas to the bottom of the frame for the virtual feet...in addition, you might want to lighten the area around the eye...

Jeni, fine capture. Your exposure is dead on, and so is your background.
    Regards,
