In the beautiful country of South Africa i was able to take a photograph of this bird while sitting on the ground in the shade of a tree at the end of the day. This bird looks simalair as the one we have in Europ, bud the colors are more intens.

Great light, details and eye contact. I wish for a slightly higher angle and some head turn toward you. I might clone out the blades of grass sticking out of the bird's back.

Agree with the above comments. Very striking image with excellent color detail and sharpness. I saw these birds while in Kenya but never had the opportunity to get a wonderful image as this one. Thanks for sharing.

Light quality, sharpness and the details are fantastic Alexander. Just a little more camera elevation would create more separation between the OOF grass and the lower portion of the bird.

Excellent shot, Alexander. Lovely light. I agree about reducing the OOF foreground and wonder about rotating CW to level the horizon.

Just need a tighter crop or higher angle , as mentioned. Otherwise a beautiful capture.

Lovely, I like as presented, don't mind the head angles since it is parallel to the sensor plane and it shows exactly the shape of the head. Very nice :)

Gorgeous bird and light. I would remove the "dust" spot to the right of the frame, but that's about it for me!

Very nice image Alexander. Really looks like a darker version of our hopooe. I agree about the angle but man this is a great image for sure.

Terrific. First I thought that this image needs a clock wise rotation. But on second thoughts I think, I like it the way it is. This shot is sharp, nice background with details. I don't mind the few blades of grass. Thanks for sharing.
