Very dramatic side lighting which, although I like it, I might tone down just a bit. I'd also like a little more room up top and on the right. I like the way the BG transitions from light to dark along with the bird. Looks like there's some noise in the feathers on the darker side of the bird, but not too bad, especially considering the ISO. Thanks for posting!

Very striking pose and the lighting is lovely. I would only wish for a different perch but that is not always something that we can control. Very lovely capture and eye contact Herb and many thanks for sharing .

I usually am not a big fan of sidelighting, but it works in this image for me because of the graduated color of the bg. There is a very painterly feel to this image. Lovely pose. I do wish the bird had chosen a perch that was not broken! Looking forward to more of your posts...
