As you can see, I've been practicing BIF technique and my keeper rate is pretty dismal:o This is one that made the cut. C&C encouraged and appreciated! Will I need bail money?

I was wondering if this was more of a dramatic crop? Just would have liked to have the two legs parallel to one another.

    Very nice capture Katie,
You have good details and colors. Jackie, I like the crop; but you over did it. It's a wee bit too tight around the tips of the wings; just needs a little more breathing room...

I prefer the original, too (sorry, Jackie).

This shot looks really nice, Katie. Clean and sharp! Good details in the white ! I personally don't think any HAP should bother you, but, they are what they are ;)

I guess BIF keeper rates are usually not that high comparing with portrait shots. In Artie's first book, if I remember correctly, he says action/bif and behavior shots are difficult. Personally I think luck does play a role in the success rate of BIF shots.

Hi Katie - nice details through out - including the underwings.. exposure look pretty good to me.

Agree with Desmond LUCK seems to play a great part :)

I like Katie and keep at it !!!

Would like an in between of the two. Like the idea of a slightly tighter crop. Luck does play a factor but the more you practice the luckier you will get !!! The crossed leg is interesting and a nice addition to the collection. Good wing position and exposure, only softer light would have helped. I like it !!!
