I need some time to process over more them 8000 photo’s witch I took during my holiday at South Africa. The country of Chris van Rooyen and Louky Viljoen is really beautiful and worth visiting. The birdlife is immense even during their winter time bud traveling with your family means that I didn't have an off time to make the pictures the way I wanted to. Bud…..I got a peek inside their world and took some nice things bag home. Africa is beautiful and I will come bag.

Lovely portrait with the eye and wattle detail, Alexander. I would probably try and lighten the dark area behind the bird. South Africa is a brilliant destination, rivalled only by Australia in my experience. This bird is very reminiscent of the Masked Lapwing in Australia and New Zealand.

Great bird Alexander! Perhaps a little oversharpened in the head. I might selectively bring down the yellos. I'd also remove the dark area running through the bird. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice portrait Alexander and I do echo Doug's comments. The head does appear to be slightly oversharpened but very nice detail in the feathers and good eye comntact and I like the crop in chose in this capture. Many thanks for sharing.

Very nice details here Alex. I agree about removing the dark area in this image.

Alexander, I can only echo what you said about my beautiful country and continent. It is sad that the rest of the world often view Africa as as place best to be avoided, although, sadly, I cannot always blame them for it . I CAN vouch that South Africa is a magnificent place for bird and wildlife photography, and perfectly safe if you plan your trip well.

This is a great portrait of the species, great light, nice background. I agree on the cloning of the dark area and the slight oversharpening of the head.
