I thought the leaves turned out looking like flames. I am still trying to learn how to avoid camera shake. I got out the tripod today...but guess what? Still had problems. LOL I know its an operator problem. I'll get it one day. :)

    Hi Janet,
Welcome to the BPN family I like your composition very much. I like the soft creamy feel. It would help us to evaluate your image by you posting the technicals. The center looks a bit soft, hard to determine a focal point. Looking foward to your next image...

Love the flame effect Janet! I think a little tighter crop would be nice here - just bring in the sides until the BG is gone leaving just the red flamed petals. For the center, try using the magnetic lasso in Elements to select just the center of the flower and then sharpen it using unsharp mask. It always helps to have one spot, line, or section really sharp in a blurred image as it gives your eye a place to rest and enjoy the rest of the show.

Hi Janet - welcome to the BPN Family - I like this a lot, the leaves do have a flame feel to them.

As Gus mentioned would have liked to see the centre sharp.
If you still had shake problems with a tripod - your shutter speed could be to slow for the focal length you are using, post the tech details and everyone can help (IE: Shutter speed, Aperture, ISO etc)

    keep them coming.

Welcome Janet, I agree with Julie and would make this a tighter crop and try sharpening the center. Then I think you'll have a pleasing image.
