agreed that the light was a little harsh, but you handled it well and got the areas that mattered exposed properly!!!! love the compo. there's seems to be a sharpening halo around the black areas of the bird, or is it just me again. i'm betting you are liking that new lens!! great job on this one!! killer background!! you can get rid of that halo by painting in the sharpening only on the bird.

You got yourself a Holy bird...:p:p:D I do see the heavenly light around the bird, the eye needs a splash of selective sharpening....The composition, and exposure is good, considering the harsh light. The background really makes this guy pop. Congrats...I like it...:cool:

That is one weird looking bird! I agree that a bit of additional sharpening around the eye would tighten the image up. Really nice BG and you did a bang up job on the compo!

Agree with suggestions Good looking bird Oscar At Metro Zoo its tough with the hours of operation. I know it is possible getting in early with volunteers, just haven't figured how !!!
