Default Nikon 500 AFSII lens hood screw?

Mine has stripped:(. Has anyone had this issue and what did you do. My husband is looking at a repair, but would like to get that original little piece with screw that tighens the hood to the lens. Thanks!

    Nancy,

If you go to this link and select you can send a e-mail to Nikon and they will provide you with ordering information. I had the same problem with my 600mm. The replacement screw was about $30

    Hope this helps

The same thing happened to me on my HK-22 hood for my AF-S 300mm f/2.8. Prior to ordering the replacement screw set, I found that thread tape for plumbing applications provided tension on the stripped screw. This tape is super thin white tape used prior to fitting copper pipes together and is available at Lowes and Home Depot.
