Snipe - (Gallinago gallinago) Its not often we get to see these very elusive birds out in the open. This day, we were treated to around seven making the most of the lovely sunlight.

Lovely shot, Tom. Great light and colours - water forms a great BG and foreground - the repeating S curves in the reflection are really good. Only suggestion would be to tone down the reflections on the bill and maybe some anticlockwise rotation (eye catchlight and its reflection quite laterally separated) . Great image

Really sweet image Tom !!!! Love how well the bird stands out and the pleasing water. If its fine with you would eliminate the bill shine and lighten just a tad. Image without the reflection would also be very strong !!! Excellent I like it a lot !!!

I like the pose, eye contact and details. I agree on lightening the image and removal of the sheen on the bill. I could see this without reflection and wish for a lower angle. Maybe some NR on the BG.

    Thanks everyone.

I actually have this image with a really clean background; and larger makes a big difference. I will have a go at reducing the glare on the bill; it could be slightly distracting.

    Thanks for your input :)
