Well he wasn't charging me but a rival buck during the peak of the autumn rut. Working in low light I knew I wouldn't have a sharp image but I hoped the head would be. The pan blur worked out OK in the end. I know it's a bit tight in the frame and I can add some canvas but just showng as captured....

    Hi there Robert...

Nice deer you found there. I think it is a good picture. Ofcourse it would be better if the complete head was sharp but when you look at the legs and the surroundings you see very clear he is moving and the unsharp head ads to that... The eyes have a very hunting look and I think it looks very strong...

    Hi D. Robert,
The head looks sharp enough on my monitor..............conveys the sense of a charge well. Agree with a bit more room on bottom......but all is is nicely done.

The head loks sharp too me Robert and I like the colors and the charging pose. My only nit with this image is the OOF grass in the FG, especially from the centre towards the left.

That's a healthy looking buck. I like the BG color and the sense of motion is well captured.

I like the comp and the sense of motion. I do not think it is too tight.

    Robert,

Head is sharp but needs more creative sharpening. I reposted the image with a BG USM at 175/0.3/0 then masked to black the BG and FG grass. I then changed the brush color to 50% gray and masked the body and some of the antlers that looked over sharpened. The mask was crude but gets the point across.

Nice action captures with a pan blur.

I love this action. The out of focus FG grass doesn't bother me, as they would have distracted from the face. This guy surely means business.
