    Default Great White Egret

    Taking at the Everglades with a D2H and 600/4 w14x, f5.6@1/3200, iso 320, exposure comp -2/3.
    Thanks for looking.

Hi Rick I like the pose but would rather have the head more parallel to the film plane and a slight crop from the right. I like how the bg and how the green intersects the bird toward the lower part.

Would suggest lightening the image. Light is coming from your right almost back lit and the front is shadow. There is also a halo running around the beak.

What Alfred said, plus, moving to your left a yard or two would have given you some separation between the bird and the large distant tree and would likely have placed the subject against a cleaner BKGR. A ton of flash with a better beamer would have helped to brighten the shadowed side of the bird.

    Hey Rick,
Excellent recommendations above. Artie's flash one would have made a huge difference. I love the curve of the neck you captured.

I like the vertical pose here Rick. I am measuring a stong blue/green colour cast. Have neutralised the cast and lightened as bit as suggested by Al.
